Why CRTC for your clients

What you need to know before making a referral

Clinical depth
Our multidisciplinary team includes addiction psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, trauma-informed therapists, nurses and occupational therapists. Every client receives a thorough evaluation on arrival and an individualized treatment plan built from that assessment
Dual diagnosis capability
We are equipped to treat addiction alongside depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, burnout, bipolar disorder and ADHD simultaneously. Many of our most complex referrals involve co-occurring conditions that other programs are not equipped to hold
Verified outcomes
65% of our clients maintain abstinence at one year post discharge. Based on our own follow-up data with our own patients
See our outcomes
30-day relapse guarantee
Clients who complete our 120-day program and relapse within 6 months can return for 30 days at no extra cost. A clinical commitment that almost no other program offers
How the guarantee works
Licensed and accredited
Fully accredited by IAFA and the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. English-speaking clinical team. Transparent communication with referring professionals throughout treatment
Deliberately small scale
A maximum of 18 patients at San José and 10 at Riverside. That scale ensures genuine individualized attention. Your client will not get lost in a high-volume institutional program

Built from the inside

A program built by someone who lived it

CRTC was founded by Gernot Holtz, who experienced addiction and recovery firsthand before building a treatment center. That lived perspective shapes every aspect of how the program operates, from the philosophy of individualized care to the no-expulsion commitment to the post-discharge guarantee.

For professionals making referrals, that foundation matters. You are not sending your client to an institutional program built from a business model. You are sending them to a program built from genuine understanding of what recovery actually requires.

Frequently asked questions

Questions professionals ask most often

How quickly can you admit a referred client?

In many cases we can arrange admission within 24 to 48 hours of completing the clinical review and enrollment process. We understand that timing is often critical in these situations.

What clinical information do you need for a referral?

A brief summary of the client's substance use history, any known co-occurring mental health conditions, current medications and any relevant medical history. We do not require formal documentation at the initial stage.

Do you communicate with the referring professional during treatment?

Yes. With appropriate consent we maintain communication with designated referring professionals throughout treatment and coordinate around discharge planning.

What conditions are you equipped to treat?

We treat the full range of substance use disorders alongside co-occurring depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, burnout, bipolar disorder and ADHD. We do not treat active psychosis, schizophrenia or stand-alone eating disorders as primary conditions.

Is CRTC accredited?

Yes. CRTC is fully licensed and accredited by IAFA and the Ministry of Health of Costa Rica. Our English-speaking clinical team holds internationally recognized credentials.

What does treatment cost?
