You are here for someone you love
You want to know your loved one will be properly cared for. That every day has purpose and structure. That someone is truly watching over them. We have dedicated resources for families throughout the program.
At CRTC we do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. We believe in taking the time to truly understand the person in front of us before building anything. What we build from that understanding is what makes the difference.
Addiction is rarely just about the substance. It is about what the substance was doing. Numbing pain. Managing anxiety. Surviving trauma. Filling something that felt empty. At CRTC we start by understanding all of that before we build a treatment plan.
When you arrive our multidisciplinary team conducts a thorough evaluation from multiple perspectives. Clinical, psychiatric, psychological, relational and physical. From that full picture we build something specific to you. Your history, your mental health, your strengths, your obstacles. A treatment plan that makes sense for who you actually are.
We also believe recovery should not exist in a vacuum. As clients move through the program they are given gradual but meaningful opportunities to apply what they are learning to real life. We do not just talk about recovery. We practice it. So that when you leave, what you have learned is not theoretical. It is something you have already lived.
One of the most common questions families ask is what their loved one will actually be doing each day. And one of the most common questions self-directed clients ask is whether the structure will feel rigid or human.
The honest answer is that no two days are identical. Your schedule is built around your individual treatment plan and evolves as you progress. But every day holds the same intention. Meaningful clinical work alongside genuine restoration.
Mornings often begin with movement. Yoga, breathwork or time in nature before the clinical day begins.
Individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric support and specialized therapeutic work fill the core of each day.
Afternoons may include holistic modalities, adventure activities in the Costa Rican landscape or quieter restorative practices.
Evenings are for reflection, community and rest.
The rhythm is purposeful. Nothing is filler. Everything is part of the journey.
Most treatment centers handle one part of the process and then send you somewhere else. The momentum breaks. The continuity disappears. And the next phase feels like starting over. At CRTC our proprietary 4 Phases 1 Experience methodology is designed to address that fragmentation. From medical detox through residential treatment, outpatient support and aftercare, the same philosophy, the same team and the same commitment runs through every stage.
Safe, supervised clearing of the body. The foundation everything else is built on.
The real work. Individualized therapy, holistic healing, psychiatric support and gradual real-world reintegration.
Returning to daily life with us still beside you. Structure and support as you find your footing.
Discharge is not the end. We stay connected, check in and remain present long after you leave.
CRTC was not built from a business plan. It was built by someone who lived through addiction and recovery himself. Who sat where you are sitting now. Who experienced the gaps, the fragmentation, the programs that almost worked. And who made a promise to himself to build something that actually did.
Gernot personally answers admissions calls. When you reach out you are not talking to a call center. You are talking to someone who genuinely understands where you are right now.
You want to know your loved one will be properly cared for. That every day has purpose and structure. That someone is truly watching over them. We have dedicated resources for families throughout the program.
You want to know what you are walking into before you commit. That is a completely reasonable thing to want. We are happy to walk you through everything.

Biological optimization layered into the clinical plan. Diagnostics, nutrition, nervous system support and restoration. CRTC x VINOVA alliance.
Distance from your environment is not an obstacle. It is the first intervention. Removing yourself from the people, places and patterns that have reinforced the addiction creates the space for something new to take hold. Costa Rica gives you that distance. But it gives you something more. The natural setting, the stillness, the change of pace are not incidental. They are part of how healing happens here.
Leaving your triggers behind is not running away. It is the smartest first step you can take.
The rainforest, the rivers, the stillness. These are not amenities. They are part of the treatment.

Most treatment centers apply a standard program to every patient. At CRTC we conduct a thorough multidisciplinary evaluation when you arrive and build an individualized treatment plan from what we learn. No two plans are the same.
Both. We offer 12-step facilitation for those who find meaning in that framework, and SMART Recovery and Refuge Recovery for those who need a different pathway. What we use depends on what works for you.

Our programs run at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. The average length of stay is 60 to 90 days. The full 120-day program is required to qualify for the 30-day relapse guarantee.
